First Kids Preschool

MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of First United Methodist Church and First Kids Christian Cooperative Preschool to “Know Christ, Grow in Faith, and Serve People.”

WHAT IS A COOPERATIVE PRESCHOOL?

      A parent cooperative preschool is one in which parent and family members of the students are actively involved with the daily function of the preschool. First Kids requires monthly act(s) of service per month, which can be achieved in the following ways:
    ü     Assist the teacher in the classroom
    ü     Donate materials for classroom use
    ü     Clean classroom toys and equipment
    ü     Help with fundraising efforts
    ü     Volunteer enrichment efforts
    ü     Serve on the Preschool Governing Board
    ü     Provide Snack for the Day
    ü    Assist with Homework

PHILOSOPHY

    First Kids Christian Cooperative Preschool is founded on the belief that children learn best through active participation and cooperation with their environment, peers, and parents. To meet the child’s needs, the staff will provide developmentally appropriate activities in a Christian atmosphere. Through play, the child will experience growth in the following areas:  Intellectuals, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
